The Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle, named after its designer Augustus Saint-Gaudens, was introduced in 1907 and remained in circulation until 1933, when all U.S. gold denominations were recalled. This 1908-P Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle lacks the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST,” which was added later in the year in response to public outcry. The Philadelphia Mint struck this stunning 1908-P Saint-Gaudens Gold Double Eagle, which is graded Mint State 64. Less than half of all 1908-P Saint-Gaudens coins struck have been graded in Mint State 64 condition. This coin is a Condition Rarity due to its low MS64 population.
