Victor David Brenner created the Lincoln Cent, which was first coined in 1909 and is still in use today. Lincoln Cents were made of steel with a zinc plating in 1943 due to the necessity for copper during World War II. The San Francisco Mint struck this particular one-year-only variety in 1943, and it has been rated in Mint State 66 condition. Much fewer than 1% of the 1943-S Steel Lincoln Cents that were minted have been classified in Mint State 66 condition. This 1943-S Lincoln Cent is a great Condition Rare because to its extremely low MS66 population.
