To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the iconic Kennedy Half Dollar, the United States Mint issued a limited-edition gold coin featuring the original Frank Gasparro and Gilroy Roberts designs. This Kennedy Half Dollar, struck from 3/4 of an ounce of pure .999 fine gold, is one of the few issues to feature High Relief versions of the classic Kennedy obverse and reverse. Not only is this the first gold Kennedy coin, but it is also the only issue in the anniversary series with the date “1964 – 2014” on the obverse. This 2014-W Gold Kennedy Half Dollar has been graded as perfect Proof 70 Ultra Cameo. The 2014-W Gold Kennedy Half Dollar is the third-lowest minted coin, with only 73,772 examples produced.
